Arizona, the Grand Canyon State, is definitely one of the most picturesque places in the US. It is one of the Four Corners state and is located at the Southwest portion of America.


            So what could be the reason why people in and outside America are so interested in visiting Arizona? First, the climate in this State is generally mild to moderate throughout the year. The generally warm weather and average rainfalls attract visitors mainly because this type of climate is favorable for outdoor activities such as rock climbing, boating/ kayaking, golf, biking, trekking and of course sightseeing. During the winter months, snowfalls at higher elevations provide enjoyment to those who love skiing.

            Secondly, towns located in Arizona, offers varying scenic spots and recreation areas. For those who prefer to visit Phoenix, Arizona they can check out Globe, a medium-sized town located in the vicinity. Tourists can hike, fish, camp, and go boating or mountain biking in the area. There are several national forests surrounding the town as well. Prescott National Forest offers several outdoor recreational activities to tourists. This town is a popular weekend getaway especially to those who want to escape Phoenix, Arizona’s desert heat. In Scottsdale, you can find several restaurants, clubs and resorts. Another notable place to visit in Arizona would be the town of Sedona. Oak Creek Canyon, allows vacationers to swim, camp and take pictures of the natural rock slides.

            Third, Arizona is also known for its scenic drives. There’s the Apache Trail National Scenic Byway, Gila-Pinal Scenic Road, Harquahala Mountain Summit Road Scenic Drive, and the Aqua Caliente Scenic Drive among others.

            Fourth, Arizona is home to numerous Amusement and Water parks. That is probably one reason why most parents want to bring their kids along when they visit this state. Some of the famous Amusement centers in Arizona include USA Skateland, Castles-n-Coasters, Cryptic Illusions, Enchanted Island, Desert Oasis Aquatic Center, Phoenix Waterworld Safari, Fiddlesticks Family Fun Park, Mesa Golfland Sunsplash, etc.

            Fifth, the state of Arizona has preserved America’s rich culture and roots. As a matter of fact 22 Native American Tribes call Arizona their home. There are also several museums here where travelers can take a glimpse of the state’s culture, history and tradition.

            Sixth, Arizona is known for several state parks, national forests and state monuments. Famous examples include Montezuma Castle National Monument, Lake Havasu State Park, Four Corners Monument, Navajo National Monument, Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, etc. Most famous parks in Arizona are Glen Canyon Recreation Area, Petrified Forest, Saguaro and of course Grand Canyon National Park. Speaking of which, the reason why Arizona is called the Grand Canyon State is because it is where this Natural Wonder of the World is located.

            All these and more makes Arizona a place worth visiting for families who want to relax and have some fun.
